Man Charged with Stealing Metal

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a teen who is suspected of stealing metal and trying to sell it to a local scrap yard. According to a news release, deputies responded to a call on March 20, 2011 at Hutcherson Metals. Workers believed someone was trying to sell them stolen property. Sheriff David Woolfork said the investigation revealed Nathan Allen Wallace, age 19, of Pinewood Drive, Jackson, TN, attempted to sell Hutcherson Metals some stolen items. An employee of Mid-South Machine and Welding Shop reportedly identified the property as being stolen from their business. Investigators also believe that on two other occasions the suspect stole material from Mid-South Machine and Welding Shop and sold it to Hutcherson Metals. Nathan Allen Wallace was charged with three counts of theft of property under $500.00. On March 21, Nathan Wallace posted a $1,000.00 bond. His arraignment has been scheduled for March 22, 2012, at 8:30 a.m. in General Sessions Court, Division I. The investigation is continuing.
