Former Lake County Deputy Arrested on Sex Charges

A former Lake County Sheriff‘s Deputy was arrested Thursday after an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. According to authorities, Mario Jaron Montgomery, was taken into custody and charged with one count of sexual battery by an authority figure and one count of sexual contact by an authority figure. A TBI spokesperson said Montgomery was a deputy with the Lake County Sheriff‘s Department when the alleged incident occurred. Montgomery resigned from his job on March 16. Montgomery currently holds a position as an alderman in Tiptonville.
