A Jackson college professor will be featured in a national ad campaign for a weight loss program. Dr. Rhonda Hudson, who teaches at Union University said her story of weight loss will take her to New York City to take part in a photo shoot for Weight Watchers on March 30. Hudson began the national chain’s food and exercise regimen in July 2010 as she approached her 50th birthday to decrease her health risk factors. After losing almost 70 pounds she was contacted by Weight Watchers about the photo shoot. She said her dress size dropped 10 sizes. Hudson said she hopes her story will inspire others to lose weight and become healthier. “Anything worth fighting for, worth having, takes time and you have to commit to it,” said Dr. Rhonda Hudson, a Weight Watchers client. “But once you start seeing the benefits of losing weight, then you become inspired that you really want to help others. Especially for women, especially my age, it’s hard, but I think when they see somebody like me who can do it they get inspired too, that’s my hope.” Dr Hudson said she is unsure if her photos or story will be used in a national campaign.
