A Jackson woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after she reportedly fired a shot through her front door while her boyfriend was inside the home. Officers responded to the call in the 100 block of Wilkinson Street around 5:30 p.m., Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers said they were told by the resident, Shantay Walker, 28, that no shooting had occurred. However, officers on the scene noticed a bullet hole in the front door and neighbors nearby confirmed they had heard a shot. Police believe that Walker fired the shot through her front door while her boyfriend was inside the home. Her two children, ages 6 and 2, were allegedly in the yard near Walker when she fired the shot. Walker was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. She was arraigned Thursday morning in Jackson City Court and is free on $20,000 bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is April 2 in City Court.
