Ex-Drug Lord, Sister Face More Charges

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – A man sentenced last year to prison for drug trafficking through his trucking business in Forest will stand trial May 2 on more charges arising from the earlier case. The Scott County Times reports (http://bit.ly/GQgBzq) that Jessie Jerome Hall has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of money laundering and conspiracy to file a false tax return. Hall’s sister, Shannon Hall, also pleaded not guilty to similar charges in an appearance earlier this month before U.S. Magistrate Linda Anderson. Her trial also was set for May 2. Jessie Hall was sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2011 for drug trafficking. Shannon Hall was sentenced to 37 months. Twelve other were given sentences ranging from 24 months to 108 months.
