Humboldt Group Gives Away Prom Dresses

A group of Humboldt women is helping high school girls have their dream prom by giving away prom dresses. This is the second year the Jr. Auxiliary of Humboldt has hosted “Prom Closet.” Organizers said they collect gently used dresses to give away to teenage girls who cannot afford to buy a prom dress. Their goal is to give these girls a prom to remember. “We have different colors, sizes, different kind of looks for them, so they are really excited,” Director Kelly Walker said. Walker said they have collected about 100 dresses this year.
