Anti-Bullying Program
Dozens of parents and students gathered at Madison Academic High School to learn how to prevent bullying among young people. Aneesa Sood is a Senior at Madison and last fall founded an anti-bullying program called “But Words Will Never Hurt Me.” She said her goal is to help young people understand the serious consequences of bullying others online and face-to-face. She is now presenting her program, which has received national attention at schools, churches and to other organizations. “People will learn like ways that they can overcome bullying and maybe if you are a bully they will be able get advice from this and they will learn how they can stop being a bully to others and how they are hurting other people, said Aneesa Sood,founder of “Words Will Never Hurt Me.” Sood recently was awarded a scholarship to attend save the Children’s 2012 Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C., where she visited the offices of Tennessee lawmakers and discussed the importance of continued funding for programs that serve children and youth.
