Carl Perkins Center to Hold Prayer Service for Child Abuse Prevention
A local child abuse prevention center is planning a community event in recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Center will host a prayer service Friday at 12 Noon at Northside Assembly of God Church, 27 Oil Well Road in Jackson. The center served more than 14,000 children last year in 20 counties. Organizers hope the service will bring attention to the plight of abused children. “We need to come together as a community and pray for our kids. And pray for the kids we’re working with, that we have worked with in the past and those that we don’t even know about yet who are hurting and need our help,” said Pam Nash, president and CEO of the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. The center’s also encouraging getting blue ribbons to support child abuse prevention. They can be picked up at any center location across West Tennessee.
