New Details in Muse Park Shooting

There are new details in the Muse Park shooting from Monday night, injuring two people. Police said they do not believe the gunfire to be a random act of violence and are still looking for a suspect or suspects in the shooting. Jackson Police do not believe a fight over a basketball game was the reason for the gunfire. One of the victims was allegedly involved in the fight. Investigators said just minutes before the gunfire, two men were seen playing basketball on the Muse Park courts. Witnesses said a third man argued with one of the players. Soon after, a white Chevrolet Impala with three black men inside drove up and shots were fired. Although the contact sport can be aggressive, Lt. Tyreece Miller said players need to learn how to respond instead of turning to criminal means.
