Sheriff: Man Broke Windows with Gumball Machine

A Jackson man was arrested Tuesday evening after reportedly breaking windows at the Criminal Justice Complex with a candy machine. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Clint Earl Sims, 32, went to the Madison County Jail just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and stated he wanted to turn himself in. Jail workers found no outstanding warrants for Sims and they would not arrest him. Sims then reportedly told worker, “Give me a minute.” A short time later, workers said Sims stole a gumball machine from the jail and left the building. He reportedly walked over to the Criminal Justice Complex, courts division, and broke the glass out of the door and a side window. Clint Earl Sims then returned to the Madison County Jail and was taken into custody by the Jackson Police Department. He has been charged with burglary, felony vandalism and theft of property. His arraignment has not been scheduled at this time.
