Woman Sentenced for Infant’s Death in Hotel Room

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A 24-year-old woman has been sentenced to six years in prison for the death of her 4-month-old son, who was left in a vacant hotel room while she worked as a desk clerk. Arnes’a Hart was sentenced Thursday for her guilty plea to criminally negligent homicide. The infant, Sir Rodrick Polk-Donaldson, died in February 2011 when his 3-year-old brother rolled over on him while he slept, smothering him. According to testimony, the children were not checked on for five hours. Although cribs were available at the hotel, Hart did not use one.
