Blue Ribbons Placed Around Jackson
Blue ribbons are showing up all over town this month. They are being put up to raise awareness that April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse is placing the ribbons all over the city to symbolize the more than three million children who are victims of abuse every year. Courtney Moody, who is a Family Advocate, said, “I want people to recognize that child abuse is still a big problem, and if you know anybody that‘s being abused, please report it to correct authorities so we can make those children‘s lives better.” The center has locations across West Tennessee that provides free services to those who are being abused or neglected.
