Carl Perkins Center Holds Prayer Service for Abused Children
Dozens of West Tennesseans gathered together to pray for children in the area, especially those suffering from abuse, Friday. A prayer service was held at Northside Assembly by the Exchange-Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse in preparation for National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. “This community is praying for us and being involved in helping us. Everybody being involved in the center has helped thousands of children and changed thousands of lives,” said Pam Nash, President and CEO of Exchange-Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. If you missed the prayer service but still want to show your support, you are encouraged to wear a blue ribbon throughout the month of April. Blue represents the color of the bruises suffered by children of abuse. Last year, with the help of volunteers, the center served more than 14,000 children in 20 West Tennessee counties.
