Jackson-Madison County Habitat for Humanity hit a big milestone, Friday. It was the ground breaking on the 100th home along Habitat Meadows, which is a neighborhood in East Jackson where several Habitat homes now stand. “The 100th house, I believe, is significant because we‘ve been able to offer families, a hundred families, the opportunity to escape from sub-standard housing and more into a simple, decent house,” said Terri Kozlowitz, Executive Director of Jackson-Madison County Habitat for Humanity. Unlike most cases where a specific group or company volunteers to do the majority of the construction, this house will be build by volunteers from various groups. Framing for the 100th home is scheduled for April 21st. Habitat‘s 98th, 99th and 100th homes are expected to be completed by the end of June.
