Milan Arsenal Begins Layoffs

The first round of layoffs at the Milan Arsenal occurred, Thursday. Earlier this month, American Ordinance announced it will let 400 of its permanent workers go by the end of June. About 100 workers are expected to be let go by the end of April. The ammunition maker is considering its production facilities with the Milan work going to a plant in Iowa. Officials said other commercial businesses are looking at the arsenal for future business.
