Charity Ride And Car Show Raises Money For St. Jude’s
One local high school took some time to help raise money those in need Saturday. Liberty Technology Magnet High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC held its 2nd Annual St. Jude Charity Ride and Car Show at the Jackson Civic Center. There were about 50 cars at the show, and drivers participating in the charity drive cruised from North Highland to Ridgecrest. Modern and classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles were on display. “It is the best of both worlds ’cause it makes you feel good that you can come out here and donate a little bit of money, and it goes to a good cause. You have a good time to,” said organizer Scott Parkhurst. Students hoped to raise at least $3000. All of the money raised will go to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
