April marks National Alcohol Awareness Month and Jackson State is using this time to educate its students about the dangers of drinking and driving. Thursday, students learned how to determine their drinking limits and were given the chance to get behind-the-wheel of this specially equipped go-cart, which can stimulate just how out of control a person is behind the wheel. “There are thousands of people that are killed every year due to DUI. Drivers and also family members that are lost and the financial burden on the individuals or families and even the suspect person that commits the DUI offense,” said Sgt. Byron Taylor. Jackson State will conclude its Alcohol Awareness Red Ribbon Week, Friday. This marks the 12th year Jackson State has hosted this event.
