Area Leaders Learn New Management Techniques

The University of Tennessee Naifeh Center for Effective Leadership collaborated with the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence. The workshop was on improvement in government. Local and state leaders were on hand at the West Tennessee Research and Education Center. Officials say they hope the event gave those attending ideas to help communities. “We hope they walk away with the idea that there are things we can do in the public service to make the payoff for our citizens better,” said Tom Kohntopp, manager of the Institute for Public Service. 1,200 organization have participated in the Tennessee Center for performance Excellence Awards Program.
