AWOL Marine Charged in Machete Attack

A $250,000 bond was set for a machete-wielding AWOL Marine, shot by a homeowner in South Jackson, last month. Caleb Dehoog, 21, was officially charged, Tuesday in the April 11 attempted break-in. He faces counts of attempted aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, aggravated criminal trespassing and possession of a deadly weapon. Court papers show he was shot as he tried to pull open a sliding glass door while banging on it with the handle of a machete. Dehoog is free on bond. He is scheduled to return to court on June 14.
