Bruceton Police Chief Speaks About Dog Attack

Bruceton Police Chief Ronnie Stewart spoke out Thursday for the first time since he was viciously attacked by pit bulls. After spending two weeks at Vanderbilt Medical Center the Chief is recovering at home from his broken thumb and torn up arm. Chief Stewart’s daughter’s two pit bulls starting attacking he and his granddaughter when they were outside playing. He had to fight off the dogs, who were both put down. His family is calling him a hero for the way he reacted, although no one knows still why the pit bulls turned on the family. “I have no idea. Unless the possibility they might have thought I was trying to hurt her. That’s the only thing I could think of,” said Stewart The Chief said he hopes to be back at work at the Bruceton Police Department in about a month.
