MS Man Arrested for Child Abuse
A 27-year-old Petal man has been arrested for allegedly beating a 3-year-old. Patrick Ross Towns is held on a $150,000 bond on a simple domestic violence charge and a child abuse causing serious bodily harm charge. Investigator Craig Locke said the child was hospitalized following the incident, and that police are waiting on medical professionals to provide specific information on the extent of the injuries. Locke said the victim has since been released from Forrest General Hospital. Investigator Ken Bullock said officers responded to a 911 call from one of Towns’ family members Friday night. Towns was not at the scene when officers arrived, but he turned himself in to Petal police later that night. It could not be determined if Towns has an attorney.
