Students at South Elem. Throw Pies, Shoot Silly String at Teachers
Students are still buzzing about a celebration concerning their efforts to better their writing scores. It was a little unusual one as pies and silly string were used showing their pride in achievement. South Elementary School’s fifth graders took the TCAP Writing Assessment Test a couple of month ago. As a fun incentive for students scoring a 4,5, or 6, they got to Silly String or throw a pie in their teacher’s faces. “I think if you make it fun then hopefully everybody will do their best,” said Chelsea Bergerson, a 5th grade teacher. School leaders said the incentive certainly got students fired up about the tests and their scores.
