Police Investigating Tuesday Night Homicide

Jackson police are investigating the city‘s fifth homicide of the year. According to investigators, Donald Bowers, 52, was found dead in his home on Fairmeadow Cove, Tuesday evening at about 11:00 p.m. Police are investigating the case as a homicide but are not releasing the cause of death. Investigators said there was no evidence of a forced entry, but robbery appears to be the motive. Bowers was a two time National Golden Gloves Boxing Champion and was inducted into the Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. As of this morning, authorities have not identified a suspect. We will have more details as they become available.
