Students Explore Options for College with Help from REDI
West Tennessee High School students were part of a program to help get them ready for college. Eight Tennessee colleges and universities attended the event on the University of Memphis-Lambuth campus. The REDI College Access Program helps prepare students for high education and encourages them to attend school. Event organizers said the program is not just about choosing a college, but fining the right school for each student. “We talk to them about a good college fit. That’s always a big question. Academically what are they prepared for,” said Beverly Vos, a college access coordinator with REDI. “We try to find something that really fits them so that they can be a success.” Organizers also told 7 Eyewitness News the biggest benefit of this program is a more educated population and workforce that leads to a better West Tennessee.
