AKC Dog Shows Kick-off in Jackson
The city of Jackson is ‘going to the dogs’ as the annual dog fanciers show makes a stop in the Hub City. Some of the finest breeds and handlers will be on display at the AKC sanctioned event, hosted by the Jackson Dog Fanciers Association and Clarksville Kennel Club. Thursday marked the first day of four days of competition at Jackson’s Fairgrounds Park . The show features all breeds and handlers strutting their stuff for the judges. Those who are competing in the show said there is something special about the event. “If you only go to a dog show for the winning, it’s not going to be much fun because we do more losing than we do winning, most of the time,” said dog owner, Nancy Sullenger. “But we enjoy being with our friends that enjoy dogs, too.” The dog show continues through Sunday at Fairgrounds Park and is open to the public.
