Bowers’ Past Reveals Lengthy Criminal Record

A search into Donald Bowers’ past turned up more than just his boxing distinctions. It also includes a criminal record that spans decades. Records in Jackson show Bowers’ first arrest by police was June 16, 1989, on a charge of aggravated assault. His last arrest by Jackson police was on March 15 of this year. The report shows Bowers struggled with officers outside of his car after he tried to swallow a gram of crack cocaine wrapped in plastic. Officers said after he was sprayed twice with “Freeze” spray in the face, he spit out the bag of drugs. They also reported finding ten 7.5 mg Hydrocodone pills wrapped in a napkin in his front pants pocket. He spent about 10 hours in the Madison County Jail before posting bond.
