School Gardening Workshop
A workshop is being offered next month for teachers interested in creating a school garden. The Sustainable Communities Network is hosting the workshop on June 18 at Crestwood Christian Church in Lexington. A statement from the organization says the class was created with teachers in mind and will show how school gardens support Kentucky Core Content Standard; the subjects of language arts, science, history, math, music; culinary arts and community partnerships. The workshop also will highlight school garden that have already been established to give participants ideas for landscaping that can be adapted for their school.
