MS Teen Charged in Sister’s Accidental Shooting
Biloxi police say a 17-year-old was handling a gun in a careless manner when it discharged, striking his younger stepsister, who died a short time late at a hospital. Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove says 13-year-old Saddie Warden died Wednesday of a single gunshot wound to the chest. Police says the teen was arrested on a charge of manslaughter by culpable negligence. The charge generally applies to a killing that occurs with reckless disregard for human safety. Police believe the teen and the girl were the only two at home when the shooting occurred. Police say the gun is owned by a family member.
