Body Found in National Forest
East Tennessee authorities say a human body has been discovered in the Cherokee National Forest. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported late Tuesday night that the remains of a young white male was found near Bald River Falls. The department is investigating the case as a likely homicide. The identity of the person was withheld while family members were told.
