Milan, Trenton & Medina Ban Fireworks Use

Milan, Tenn. – Three more Gibson County cities have temporarily banned the use fireworks. Milan, Trenton and Medina their bans of the use of fireworks, Monday. Officials stated that the move was made due to the extreme dry conditions. They join Rutherford, Bradford and Dyer in banning the use of fireworks. Both Medina and Dyer have also postponed their public July 4 fireworks displays. The entirety of Gibson County is under a burn ban which was issued by the Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner. A violation of a Commissioner of Agriculture imposed burn ban is considered reckless burning and is punishable as a Class A misdemeanor which carries a fine of $2,500 and/or up to 11 months 29 days in jail. The fireworks and burn bans will be in place until further notice.
