Last Day to Register to Vote in August Election is Tuesday

JACKSON, Tenn. – Tuesday is the last day that you can register to vote for the upcoming August elections. If you are not registered, you will not be allowed to vote in Madison County’s General Election and the State Primary on August 2. Early voting will begin on July 13 and will continue through July 28. If you vote early or on election day at your polling place, you must have a photo ID issued by the state or federal governments. You can register to vote at your county’s election commission office. “If you register by mail or if you don’t have that address documentation, come by and we can mail the card to you,” said Madison County Election Administrator Kim Buckley. “By mailing the card, that proves your correct address.” After the August elections, the next election will be November 6. The registration deadline for that election is October 9.
