Thomas Sentenced for Gun Charge

SAVANNAH, Tenn. – Hardin County Director of School John Thomas was sentenced, Tuesday, for his June conviction on a gun charge. According to the Hardin County Court Clerk’s office, Thomas was sentenced to five months probation and 40 hours of community service. He must also complete a remedial handgun safety course and pay $560 in fines and court costs. Thomas was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of having a firearm on a school campus without intending to use it. The charge stemmed from an incident last November on the campus of Hardin County Middle School.
