Million Dollar Meth Arrest
The Hinds County Sheriff’s Department reports that deputies found $1 million in methamphetamine inside a car’s hidden compartment after a traffic stop. It happened early Monday on Interstate 20. Sheriff Tyrone Lewis says deputies stopped a Volkswagen Jetta at about 12:45 a.m. Lewis said 23-year-old Alberto Alejandre of Dallas was in the car with his girlfriend, their young daughter and his girlfriend’s parents. After questioning them, deputies called in a K-9 unit that alerted them to narcotics. Lewis said Alejandre was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. He was still being held late Tuesday. The other people were released.
