Hands Up! Non-Profit Preschool Finds a Home
JACKSON, Tenn. – Hands Up! A non-profit preschool has found a home in Jackson. The location is the former Sacred Heart High School is located off of Hollywood Drive. The preschool will offer services to children who do not have the opportunity to go to preschool and at risk children. According to school officials, 20 percent of the Jackson population do not attend school before kindergarten. Sixty people applied for the four teaching positions at the facility. Leaders plan to have thirty-two students attending class starting in September. The local business community has committed $75,000 to get the school up and running. The long term goal is to expand the school and open a facility on East Chester Street.
