Fire in Abandoned Barn
Fire has destroyed a horse barn in Estill County. The blaze was reported shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday near the White Oak Stables, north of Irvine. Firefighters said the barn had been abandoned for some time and call the fire suspicious in origin. Flames engulfed the building, which was a total loss. A fire investigator will examine the ruins on Tuesday, looking for the cause of the fire.
