Commission to Consider Filling Vacant Seat

JACKSON, Tenn.- The Madison County Election Commission met Monday morning and voted unanimously to certify the August 2 state primary and county general election. The commission will meet again on August 28 to approve the names of local candidates for the November 6 State General Election. Two local positions will be filled. One is the county commission seat vacated due to the death of District 10 commissioner Dale Morton. The other is an alderman for the city of Three Way. The filing deadline to run for these officers is Thursday. The last day to register to vote is Monday, October 8. Election Day is November 6.
