MS Fatal Motorcycle Crash
Authorities say a 47-year-old Jones County man died in a motorcycle accident on Old Highway 15 in the Glade community south of Laurel. Jones County sheriff’s deputies say medical first responders and rescue units from Glade and Powers Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene around 6:40 Monday evening. Deputies says Joseph Larry McAlpin apparently lost control of his motorcycle as he rounded a curve, ran off the road and struck a power pole. McAlpin was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Medical Examiner Investigator Ernest Hollingsworth. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
