Prayer Service Held for Construction of Kirkland Cancer Center

JACKSON, Tenn.- A day before breaking ground on the new Alice and Carl Kirkland Cancer Center at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, supporters gathered to pray for its future. Close to a hundred people gathered Thursday night at the site where the cancer center will be built for a community ceremony. Several local pastors gathered and offered prayers. Those who were lost to cancer were also remembered in candlelight ceremony. “I think this will be a wonderful asset to our community to have this treatment and cutting edge treatment available in our area and just a place of healing and hope,” Beth Koffman with the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation. The groundbreaking for the center is scheduled for Friday morning.
