PARIS, Tenn. – Eric Kinley was a father of two and a role model to many. He was fatally shot inside of Fahrenheit 101 on Highway 79 South early Saturday morning. Kinley lived in Nashville and was in Henry County to attend his younger cousin’s music show. Aaron Teague, who is also known as Zack Teaque, says he is the victim’s cousin and was performing with his rap group at the nightclub. Teague who says he witnessed the shooting, also says this was the first time Kinley was there to watch him perform. “I had just got off stage before everything happened. He gave me a hug, told me he was proud of me, and to keep up the good work. No more than five to 10 minutes later it happened,” said Teague. Authorities said the fight started near the bar area between Kinley and three other men over what seems to have been an accidental bump. “I see the crowd move, and I hear gunshots and I looked and see it’s Eric. The only thing I can do is run to his side and talk to him and try to keep him breathing and make sure nothing else happens,” said Teague. Kinley’s cousin, Katrina Teague, said she has gone through a string of emotions since she heard the news. “Hurt, mad, just in shock we don’t understand. Just a simple bump… excuse me, could have worked. It didn’t have to be a gun shot,” Teague said. Family members said they are still in disbelief. “He’s going to be missed. Everybody in this city loved Eric he had no enemies,” said Teague.
