Lincoln Courts Shooting Suspect Arrested in Brownsville

JACKSON, Tenn. – The suspect in a weekend shooting in East Jackson is now in custody. Brownsville police reported arresting Brandon Currie, 31, at a McDonalds Restaurant in their city around Noon, Monday. Currie is accused of shooting a 29-year-old Jackson man in Lincoln Courts around 9 p.m. Saturday. Officers told 7 Eyewitness News the man was shot near the entrance to Lincoln Courts – close to Labelle Street and Roosevelt Parkway. Investigators said the victim suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and groin. Police said the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
