African Street Festival Kicks Off Weekend of Events

JACKSON, Tenn.- If you are looking for a way to celebrate African culture without leaving the country, then look no further than the annual African Street Festival this weekend in Jackson. It is the 23rd time the society for African American cultural awareness has held festival. Dozens of locals enjoyed live music and dance, food and even a slide for the kids. Organizers said the purpose of the festival is to bring several cultures together. The event is at Jackson’s Fairgrounds Park and continues through Monday.
