Lightning Knocks Out 911 in Mississippi County
Chickasaw County Sheriff Jimmy Simmons says lightning knocked out the county’s 911 system and main emergency communications network. He says that his officers are using a backup radio system, but 911 calls are disabled until repairs can be made. Simmons says the damage occurred Sunday night. He says he probably won’t know how long the 911 system will be out until sometime Tuesday.
