UNION CITY, Tenn. – A Union City nightclub could face closure for the second time in five months. Last week 7 Eyewitness News told viewers about The Blue Marble manager who was stabbed by intruders. Now, police respond just a few days later to a shots fired call. The two suspects in the stabbing are still on the loose and with all the problems officials have with The Blue Marble, they are concerned for citizens. “Definitely wouldn’t want my child or anyone’s child around anything like that,” said Shonte Cross. Cross admitted she has let her son attend “teen night” at The Blue Marble because he complains of being bored. According to police, Thomas Williams, 22, was arrested Saturday night. He is accused of firing gun shots outside the nightclub. The shots fired comes after the club manager was stabbed last week and police closing their doors in April after suspecting illegal activity. “It needs to be shut down, cleaned up, or new management or something,” said Christopher Woods. Although many residents said they would like to see the establishment stay open for entertainment reasons, police said if the violence does not stop they could be forced to close them down. Williams has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, simple possession, and reckless endangerment.
