RIFA Serves First Meal in New Soup Kitchen

JACKSON, Tenn.- Thursday marked a new beginning of sorts for RIFA as it opened its new soup kitchen at its new location on Airways Boulevard. RIFA has moved into the old Nando Jones building and Thursday served its first meal at the new location. The kitchen is not fully operational as a few appliances are not up and running, but meals will not be skipped in the meantime. . Pre-made or cold meals will be served until the more spacious kitchen is at 100 percent. “Our ability to prepare better food will certainly be enhanced. We’ve been blessed with a convection oven that I did not have over there so that opens up another relm of possibility of things for me to cook,” said Dan Ward, manager of the RIFA Soup Kitchen.
