Another Arrest Made in Antwan Brooks Murder

JACKSON, Tenn. – Another man has been arrested and charged in the August murder of Antwan Brooks. Demarcus Deon Crawford, 29, of Jackson, was arrested Tuesday morning by Jackson police officers. He is charged with first degree murder. Crawford was indicted in August by a specially called Madison County Grand Jury. Police have been searching for him since then. Currently, seven men stand accused in the beating death of Brooks. The other six are Terrell Reid, 29; Jonique Merriweather, 30; James Roberson, 27; Michael Anthony Smith, 22; Frank Clement Massengill, 34, and Exavier Ingram, 23. Charges against an eighth man were dropped due to a lack of evidence. The group is charged in the beating death of Brooks on Carolane Drive on August 5th. The reason for the alleged attack has not been released.
