JACKSON. Tenn. – Jackson students bundled up this morning with extra jackets and long sleeves as they walked to Alexander Elementary School. Parents say they were ready. “I get their jackets out for them I always check the weather, watch the weather on TV. If its cool I make sure they have jackets on,” said Rose Rodgers. One mother told me her kids have to leave their jackets behind before they board the school bus because the clothing does not fit the code. “With them going to North Parkway Middle they either have to wear solid red jacket or solid black I got red, white, black jacket that’s the best I can do,” said Kimberly Wilson. For some parents the cold weather brings reminders of economic struggle because of the county dress codes. “They already have coats at home why try to go out and struggle and find a way to find solid color,” said Wilson. Rose Rodgers says her grandchildren will need to bundle need to bundle up. “They don’t want to wear jackets but I make them wear jackets because its cold and I don’t want them sick,” said Rodgers.
