Hardin Co. Grass Fire Damages 15 Acres

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. – Hardin County firefighters are investigating the cause of a grass fire that damaged 10 to 15 acres of fields Tuesday. The fire started near Saltillo Road and St. Paul Loop, north of Savannah around 2:00 p.m. Firefighters said it took them about an hour to put out the fire, which destroyed 30 hay bales and a small barn. Officials said they do not know what caused the fire, but believe it may have started from the hay bales overheating.
