School Board Meets about Search for New Superintendent

JACKSON, Tenn.- The Jackson-Madison County School Board held a special meeting, Thursday to discuss their search for a new superintendent. Earlier this month, current Superintendent Buddy White announced he would be retiring at the end of this school year. White has been in the position for the last two school years. Those on the school board said that getting the search started earlier would aid in the search process. “The sooner the better we need to get started right away. All consultants have told us that beginning the search in the fall of the year is the ideal time,” said David Cliff, chairman of the Jackson-Madison County School Board. School board members also said they are considering contacting the Tennessee School Boards Association to help aid in the search.
