JACKSON, Tenn. – On Monday, a Madison County grand jury determined there is enough evidence to send the attempted first degree murder case against former Henderson County Sheriff Ricky Lunsford to trial. The 52-year-old was also indicted on charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and employing a weapon during the commission of a felony. On April 29, investigators said Lunsford and his wife were both inside the Tap Bar and Grill when Lunsford forced her outside at gunpoint. Once in the parking lot, witnesses told police Lunsford began shooting at his wife, who was able to break free and run between some of the parked cars. Neither she nor the four witnesses in the parking lot were hurt. However, several of the cars were struck by the spray of gunfire. Lunsford was quickly arrested but was freed after posting a $200,000 bond.
