School Placed on Lockdown after Shots Fired

JACKSON, Tenn. – An East Jackson elementary school was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon after shots were fired in a neighborhood close by. School officials with Lincoln Elementary told 7 Eyewitness News they locked down the school for about an hour as a precautionary measure. Jackson Police said they responded to a shots fired call in Lincoln Courts at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. They said someone shot into an upstairs apartment. Investigators said no one was hit and they have no suspects. Police were not able to recover any bullets at the crime scene.
